The EU Centre would like to highlight the 17th edition of the Summer School on EU Immigration and Asylum Law and Policy. The Summer School is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of (the) EU immigration and asylum policies from a legal perspective. Participants can choose to follow the English or the French-language stream.
The programme is organised under the the Institute for European Studies of the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). Participants in the Summer School include academics, EU and Member State(s) officials, PhD and graduate students, representatives of NGOs and international organisations, lawyers, judges. The deadline for registration is 10 June 2017.
In addition to the classes, evening debates and visits to the European institutions, the course provides an excellent opportunity to spend an intellectually stimulating fortnight and to network among a group of around 100 fellow participants coming from all over Europe. The setting of the summer school in Brussels, capital of the European Union, creates a unique environment that facilitates participants’ deeper engagement with the EU institutions.
Moreover, a PhD Seminar offers up also up to ten doctoral researchers the opportunity to present their PhD project and receive feedback by a panel of Odysseus Network’s Members from various European universities. This seminar aims at researchers in law, but applications in political science or international relations dealing with legal aspects are welcome. Four grants are available for PhD students and will be attributed on the basis of academic record and financial need.
