The European Union (EU) Centre in Singapore, together with its partner universities – the University of Malaya, Universitas Indonesia and Maastricht University – successfully organised the 2018 Summer Programme. This summer programme, the 2nd in a series of three, was the product of a three-year European Union Jean Monet Network Grant that funds a networking programme entitled “Challenges to Multiculturalism and Multilateralism in Asia and Europe”. This year’s programme took place in two continents over two weeks (in Brussels from 15 – 20 July; Jakarta from 22 – 28 July) and focused on the challenges to multilateralism in Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and EU. A diverse group of 27 students hailing from 16 countries participated in this year’s programme.
