About the Centre
The EU Centre in Singapore aims to promote knowledge & understanding of the European Union, its institutions, policies, and impact on Singapore and the region. We work with different partners to raise the awareness of the EU, its relationship with Asia and its global role through various events, research and policy briefs. The activities of the EU Centre are funded by the European Commission and the two hosting universities– NUS and NTU.
Lecture on "The Role of the European Research Council (ERC) in the Global Scientific Landscape"
(3 Feb, 3.30pm) You are invited to a public lecture, The Role of the European Research Council (ERC) in the Global Scientific Landscape by Prof Helga Nowotny (President, European Research Council) at NUS (CIT Auditorium, Computer Centre). In this lecture, Prof Nowotny will share her views on enhancing scientific cooperation between ASEAN and the EU, and present the ERC’s strategies and incentives in supporting scientific research and collaboration. The “Approaching the European Union” summer programme (June 2012) will be conducted by the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) through their summer school arm, the Munich International Summer University (MISU).
